In DocumentImpl.java, the registerElement method
seems to have to effect. It modifies the _elementTypes Hashtable, but
_elementTypes is not really used anywhere.
(I was planning on placing using this method to
insert my own ElementImpl-derived object
into the persistent DOM tree. But I think I'll be able to work around this
by deriving a new class from DocumentImpl.)
