even if the current implementation of the method would work I'm not sure
if it is a good idea to use this implementation-specific method, because
this method is an extension to W3C's DOM API. We are on the way to change
the persistent DOM implementation to use Apache's Xerces so the method
registerElement() might be removed from the ozone distribution in the
future.
