I would like to extend this diagram a little bit to make it clear:

                               Indexing Interface
                            /                             \
       XPath engine                              ozone DB
                            \                             /
                                 DOM Interface

The DOM interface is already implemented and allows the XPath engine to
search on top of persistent ozone DOM.
