I perfectly agree. Something that allows us to plug-in different authentication
implementations would be great.

I'm trying to come up with an API that integrates all of the current classes
and APIs into one central class. This class is XMLContainer. It allows to
store/retrieve DOM and SAX and to execute XPath queries. Comments are welcome.
