RE: Note from the W3C query languages WG



The following note fragment was posted to the XQL mailing

As I expected, XPath will be all there is for awhile
...and also, if they are going to
redefine an XML query language with an algebra beneath it,
then the original XQL document, in substance, will be thrown
out as it had no formal basis in logic.

XPath, however, is based on Datalog and many members
of the working group (notably *not* Jonathan Robie, as far
as I can tell) are known to be Datalog fans.  Datalog is
based on Prolog.   Time, perhaps alot of it, well tell...
