PostgreSQL s/b considered for an XML+SQL engine

If you are looking for a non-java,open source
DB engine to build an XML+SQL you couldn't do better
at any $$$ than PostgreSQL. It is very solid,
has arrays references and the best data-type-
extensibility of *anything* out there.

And you can program it to the max. The only thing
you would need to do is to create an XML
Document type and define a few methods
(in C++!). I think this is what Apache.org
may end up doing since they already have
excellent Postgres connectivity.

I like and definitely use PostgreSQL. Postgres
is a mature product and is beginning to have
speed comparable to other commercial
RDBMS.

Apache already is *the* defacto super-server
around the world. A little known fact:
IBM's $8500 Websphere is build on Apache
+SSL.

Variety is good.

P.S. If anybody want to volunteer to write a
"magic-sets" query transformation class for
Ozone, its all yours.

Best Wishes,
