Ozone+XML: probable Xalan bug

I have been hacking with Ozone+Apache Xalan for several days without
success.
I write what, by all appearances, is valid code, and get either no
results at all,
or non-sensical exceptions.

According to Keith Visco (XSLP  and now working for Intalio, I believe)
Xalan may have a bug in it that prevents it from working with DOM's
other
that its own.

So, for now, I have stopped trying to use Xalan.  I do however have
results for Lotus XSLT that I am posting under separate cover.
