Need to handle extremely large project
Hello:
I am working with a very large well-known company that wants
to build an extremely large Internet version of an applcation
that they have in-house.
This project will probably have on the order of 5 million
objects if I implement it in an OODBMS.
Can ozone handle this scale? Are there any projects that
have used ozone for something on that scale?
They have stated a prefernce for haiving it built using an
Oracle back-end, but I would rather use a native OODBMS
instead of writing object to relational mapping code
or using EJB.
Since it is going to be very hard to convince them to
try a new technology, I really need to get some material
together to convince them that a system built on a OODBMS
is more stable, scalable, and maintainable than one built
on an RDBMS and that Ozone can handle what they want.
If you know of any resources on this, please let me
know. If I can do this project on Ozone, it will
definitely be some high-profile exposure!
Thanks,
Neil.
